What's an Angstrom?

An angstrom is a unit of measure named after Anders Jonas Angstrom (1814-1874), a Swedish physicist and pioneer in spectroscopy.

The Angstrom Unit is a length equal to one hundred-millionth of a centimeter. It is used especially to specify radiation wavelengths. It is smaller than a micron and a particle an angstrom in size is able to enter the cell well through the process of osmosis.

A colloid is a suspended particle in a liquid or gas. Colloids are usually from 5 to 5,000 angstroms in size.
